Hi everyone, This is the 11th update! I'm afraid that our patience will be tested a bit more. For the second time, a factory delivered a bad product and again it's the panels. The samples they sent me were good and I gave them a go. However, in the end product, the rivets on the back are very visible at the front. This is not acceptable and I'm now trying to work towards a solution with the factory. Of course, they deny any wrongdoing but luckily the deal was done with an independent third party so hopefully I have a...

Hi! Here another weekly update. Like every week, there is a lot going on but here are the highlights of this week. Woodwork I'm currently working on the CNC machine to finish the wood. I'm now at approximately 75%. The oak is done and about half of the walnut is finished. In the coming evenings I will finish the rest. Last week however, there were some issues which caused some of the parts to fail (mainly the walnut but also some oak parts might have been affected). This problem is now fixed but because of this I might have to...

Hey everyone! This is the 10th weekly update. Panels The panels finally came in this week! I will randomly select a few for quality inspection and when they are good, I will start milling in the notches for the potentiometers. Woodwork Most of the woodwork is milled and ready to be glued into frames. I'm still waiting for a few more walnut parts (a few failed during the milling process and have to be redone) which should come in next week or so. However, the first batch is ready to be assembled. PCBs The motherboards are done and I will...

Hey everyone, This week I will try to keep it short since I'm in the middle of soldering the motherboards. Motherboards The KNTRL9 has 2 PCBs: the main board with all the controls on it and the motherboard. The motherboard came without the components soldered on. Because of the chip shortage, the factory could not source the microcontroller chips so I decided to try and source them myself. I was able to buy a batch straight from the factory for the normal price (prices now can be as high as $28 per chip!). I was lucky because the next day...

Hey everyone, Loads of stuff happened in the last week. Here a short summary. Woodwork Tino from Tischlerei Finke finished the first batch of walnut strips this week. Yesterday, I created the bed for the strips to fit in so that I can mill them in bulk. I also managed to do four test walnut strips for one controller until my time slot ended. I booked the CNC machine for next week to do the rest of the walnut strips. The oak will be in next week as well. The CNC machine working on the bed The machine working on...
