Hi! Here another weekly update. Like every week, there is a lot going on but here are the highlights of this week. Woodwork I'm currently working on the CNC machine to finish the wood. I'm now at approximately 75%. The oak is done and about half of the walnut is finished. In the coming evenings I will finish the rest. Last week however, there were some issues which caused some of the parts to fail (mainly the walnut but also some oak parts might have been affected). This problem is now fixed but because of this I might have to...

Hey everyone! This is the 10th weekly update. Panels The panels finally came in this week! I will randomly select a few for quality inspection and when they are good, I will start milling in the notches for the potentiometers. Woodwork Most of the woodwork is milled and ready to be glued into frames. I'm still waiting for a few more walnut parts (a few failed during the milling process and have to be redone) which should come in next week or so. However, the first batch is ready to be assembled. PCBs The motherboards are done and I will...

Hey everyone, This week I will try to keep it short since I'm in the middle of soldering the motherboards. Motherboards The KNTRL9 has 2 PCBs: the main board with all the controls on it and the motherboard. The motherboard came without the components soldered on. Because of the chip shortage, the factory could not source the microcontroller chips so I decided to try and source them myself. I was able to buy a batch straight from the factory for the normal price (prices now can be as high as $28 per chip!). I was lucky because the next day...

Yesterday, I created the bed for the strips to fit in so that I can mill them in bulk. I also managed to do four test walnut strips for one controller until my time slot ended. I booked the CNC machine for next week to do the rest of the walnut strips. The oak will be in next week as well. The CNC machine working on the bed The machine working on...

Like I already mentioned, last week I had to go to the Netherlands for a family matter. Luckily, I was able to do some work on my laptop but not as much as I would be able to do usually. I will therefore keep it short this week. Software I managed to finish a large part of the KNTRL9 editor and it can now upload new firmware to the KNTRL9. This still needs some work on the user interaction but it's almost done. Woodwork The wood came in on Saturday and was brought to the woodworker on Monday. If all...
